Not Freddie Krueger. The Freddies. They poll frequent travelers to rate airline and hotel rewards programs. Alaska Airlines electronic newsletter had a link so I decided to check it out.
First thing it asks for is my email address, because they want "one person, one vote". I took the poll and it sent an automatic email to my email address to confirm I really did have that email address. Sure you could make up an email address for free and I'm sure that there are trolls out there that could whip out some code that would foil the safeguards, but at least Freddie is trying.
Naturally it struck me as sad and pretty pathetic that an online poll would make more of an effort to prevent vote fraud than King County (and the whole state when you really think about it).
So there you have it, the thinking on the left gives you one vote per person in online polls and the academy awards - but where it really counts, electing the people to run our government, the sky's the limit...
Ah, the legacy of the tie-dyed generation... They fought so hard (and often valiantly) for increased civil rights and freedoms for all Americans only to squander them. They are desperately trying to cling to power and abusing those hard won rights in the process. They've sold out to special interest coalitions and the unions and lost sight of what they used to stand for... Like Icharus, they soared to the heights and their fall is just as spectacular. Spectacularly sad and unfortunate for us all. Theirs could have been a legacy of increased freedoms and rights for all, instead it will be a generation scorned for squandering their achievements...
