Once may have been an accident. May have been a mistake. May have been something I did. May have been a freak occurence.
Twice makes it reality.
Power Line has pop up ads.
How brutally disappointing. I really, really enjoy Power Line. I really, really hate pop up ads.
This reminds me of why I don't have any advertising. Well that and the fact that with six regular readers (may be down to two, since I have been such a slacker about posting lately). I'd feel like a sell out if I couldn't control things like ad content or who was advertising or being able to say no to pop ups.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a completely committed capitalist. I'm just not a big fan of advertising on blogs...
Hey!
Uh, download firefox. I think that lets you block popups. Or you could buy a mac, and never have to worry about anything ever again, for as long as you live.
Until then, use firefox.

Hmmm... it sounds to me like you may have adware. I can't imagine Powerline getting popup ads, and I've never experienced it myself. And I myself have been accused of having popup ads on my own site, which I know I don't--I could be wrong, but I'd suggest a thorough check for adware before you spread this meme too far.

Uh, I work for the government. We have firewalls that make Fort Knox look a public park. I never get pop ups except with the Power Line guys. Either someone is sneaking something in on their bandwidth or they're allowing pop ups cause only my "safe" sites get through the firewall.

By golly, you're right. And yeah, that is disappointing.
